Web Development Combines Two Great Passions, Creating and Programming:

I have always liked creating. Growing up, this took the form of drawing, painting, sewing and knitting.

I first discovered programming in college. In my first job, I programmed in Fortran, Assemble Language and C. It was a small startup company. I was good at interfacing with customers, so I was often sent onsite. In the next company, I spent several years travelling supporting beta sites.

Eventually I found my way back to programming at a small manufacturing company where I was IT Manager, Application Support, and Database Programmer. After much self-evaluation and soul searching, I decided to return to my first professional love, programming. I completed a Full Stack Software Development training program with high marks.

I am a technology professional with extensive experience in customer support, implementation, site reliability, databases and programming. I look forward to partnering with you to create a website that represents your unique business.

Why I Care about Digital Accessibility (A11y):

I care about digital accessibility (A11y) because of three important people in my life.

First is my father who was blind in one eye. He never liked people to know that he lost sight in that eye as a child.

Second is my Uncle Ray. I was always close to him growing up. From birth, he did not have use of one arm.

Third is my son who has ADHD. Websites with lots of flashing or that require too much effort to navigate cause frustration.

Wherever possible, I will make the websites I create using best practices so that they are easy to use and people can use them on any device or with any type of assistive technology.

My Favorite Pastimes are Dog Training, Walking and Creating:

I love dogs. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Big dogs, little dogs, pure breed or mixed, I love them all. I taught pet obedience and tricks at a local dog school one night a week for over ten years just to learn more about dogs. Currently, I live with one papillon. He is four years old. His favorite things are his ball, going for walks and performing tricks.
